When medicinal chemists design a lead they want to decorate it with small functionalities, for example, oxetane or sulfoximine. This time we pay our attention to another small group… A 1,1-difluorocyclopropane moiety has become one of those groups that simply make your molecules better. The moiety has been already recognized by medicinal chemists and some of the molecules are already in phase III, i.e. antineoplastic drug Zosuquidar.
