Last March, a group of researchers published an article on Azo-PROTACs: a novel light-controlled small molecule tool for protein knockdown.
The molecules themselves are based on an azobenzene moiety, included in the linker. UV/VIS light induces cis/trans configuration change, which is totally reversible. This approach gives researchers much more control over the effects of a PROTAC inside a cell.
Based on the article, we prepared a great set of azobenzene compounds from our catalog.
