Aryl stannanes have been widely utilized in Stille coupling that is similar to Suzuki coupling. The interest in these tin-organic compounds is because of their large variety and higher stability (especially some hetaryl derivatives) compared with the corresponding boronic acids that afford interesting compounds in high yields. Also, these molecules are very cool because they look like octopuses! So, molecules of this week are octopus-like tributyl stannanes – a perfect starting point for our research !
